We’re working with Sandwell Council on plans for a new skatepark at Britannia Park.
We’ve created a concept design and we’re keen to get your feedback to help shape the next stage.
We are inviting local riders to have their say on what’s important in a skatepark by completing this short survey.
Please feel free to provide some feedback below before 1st Oct 2025
DESIGN INTENT AND CONCEPT
The concept centres around an open-ended street-style layout with fluid lines and progressive features that allow users to navigate the space in a continuous loop or isolated paths, depending on occupancy. Differentiating itself from nearby facilities such as Lightwoods Skatepark, this new installation expands into the adjacent greenspace and introduces unique riding experiences that complement - not replicate - existing provision.
Twin Banks and Central
Quarterpipe Return A prominent entry zone anchored by a quarterpipe, flanked by twin banks. These allow for transfer opportunities and varied riding lines. A tiered platform at the rear of this feature steps down neatly towards the entrance to the space.
Inline Hip and Driveway Feature
A raised hip follows the park’s perimeter, merging with a ‘house driveway’ ledge-and-rail combo for advanced trick opportunities. This configuration supports technical flips, grinds, and direction changes.
Hipped Brick Bank
Extending into the greenspace, this feature includes twin hips and an inset ledge with an authentic brick finish. It caters to both technical street and creative transition riding.
Superwide Quarterpipe with Drop-In Zone
A generous quarterpipe completes the far end of the park, enabling return runs and aerial trick setup. A creative cut-out provides a lower-level entry point for less confident riders, enhancing inclusivity and takes account of the existing space.
