The Mumbles Skatepark

“We would like to thank Maverick for creating a world class skatepark which is accessible to all, whatever age, physical ability, or level of skill.”
When considering Mumbles Community Council’s involvement with Maverick, the first word that comes to mind is, trust.

The lead committee co-opted experienced local skaters. They listened to Maverick at the exploratory meeting. They advised us that they were confident that Maverick really understood what we wanted. Maverick was the only firm to fully answer the demands of the detailed tender.

They walked us through the planning process and advised and accompanied us to the Planning meeting. We had a tricky journey from the start but Maverick’s message was always that they would build this skatepark and would support us all the way. And they did.

When the site crew arrived we were all concerned that a winter build lay ahead. The site managers simply said, “We got this.” We had complete confidence in them. All the chaps were unfailingly polite. They patiently answered every question. They were obviously determined to deliver the highest spec on the build, at some extra cost to the firm. There is clearly a commitment and work ethic that runs throughout the entire firm.

We have a beautiful skatepark that is used by toddlers, experienced riders, bikers and wheelchair riders.

Maverick Industries has gained the council’s unerring trust, respect and gratitude.”

“Amazing response to the park. Rammed from dusk to dawn yesterday and busier today. Loads of passers by coming in and complementing it too. Amazing job!”

“The skate park is open and it is everything and more than we ever dreamed of. The park was full from morning till evening, skaters of all ages, locals and visitors alike. Families made the most of the first dry day and plenty of people got their first introduction to skateboarding aswell. This place is going to get a new generation involved as well as providing a state of the art facility for those already skating, riding and scooting. Everyone’s hard work and belief in the value of the park has finally paid off. The bike racks were full all day as people travelled down using the prom and their legs to get there”

“I walked the dog at 7am this morning and it was being used, and every time I pass, there are plenty using it, plenty on the way to it and leaving it. It’s great to see. All ages, families spending time together, children not stuck in infront of a screen - fantastic for everyone’s physical and mental health. It’s such an important , much needed investment 🙌”
